How to integrate in practice
Three specific ways of integrating:
- Use existing integrations between systems – these may be free or cost money depending on the tool or service. Well-known IT system suppliers, such as Microsoft for example, often have a lot of integrations with other popular systems, such as Asana, Zoom, etc.
- Use online automation platforms that operate as a middleman and let “anyone” integrate. For example, Zapier and IFTTT
- Develop integrations yourself. This requires your own developers and people with technical expertise. This type of expertise costs a good deal, so it is worth thinking long term when it comes to choosing services and integrations to invest in
As mentioned, good integrations do not just improve efficiency, but also facilitate innovation and business development. For many businesses integrations with customers’ systems can also be valuable. Tip: Discuss with the customer which systems they use and find out what options there are!
